It’s that time of year again, and if you take your business to Christmas festivals each year, you’re probably ramping up to enjoy it again this year - if not already in the midst! However, since the pandemic, attendance to Christmas festivals is much lower than ever before, so how can you make sure your efforts are profitable? Let’s take a look at how you can boss Christmas festivals as a business this year.
While people might not be as willing to attend Christmas festivals as they used to be, it’s probably not because of the pandemic any more. There’s a good chance people choose to stay at home because they don’t know what they’re missing out on! Use your social media platforms to create a hype around your stall to drive people out to come and see you! If you’re doing a tour up and down the country, be sure to add dates and locations to make it easier for your customers. Plus, who doesn’t love seeing a Christmas stall display?
If there is one thing the pandemic has done, it’s force people to pay with their cards instead of cash. While there might be some customers who want to pay by cash, wouldn’t it be terrible to have to turn someone away because they aren’t carrying any cash? Get a mobile card reader so that everyone who wants to buy something from your stall can do so without any issues.
You want your stall to be busy and full of laughter, so what can you do to make sure that happens? Sure, making sure your team smiles and are friendly is the first step, but wouldn’t it be fun to make your stall fun too? Why not create some fun games for people to play? It could be something as simple as guessing the weight of a candy jar or throwing an object into a Santa hat. It doesn’t have to be a groundbreaking idea; just something fun that will keep people sticking around at your stall for longer!
While you don’t want to lose out on money doing Christmas festivals, spending a little bit of money might make all of the difference. Consider paying for a primo spot in the lineup to make sure that the crowd doesn’t tether off before they get to you. This might not be something you can achieve this year due to bookings, but it’s something to keep in mind for next year (or if other stalls drop out).
Finally, no matter where your Christmas stall is, your main goal is to get as much foot traffic as possible. Consider printing some leaflets and have team members scouting the area to direct people your way. You could even offer a freebie to everyone that visits with one of the leaflets your team hand out as a further incentive - even a warm coffee or tea will bring people in!
